Apple Mac Folder, the Apple Netbook You’ve Been Dreaming About

While many of us are hoping and waiting for a new MacBook, maybe even an Apple netbook to get launched this summer, together with the new iPhone, concepts are starting to surface, portraying the future of the MacBook series. This time we’re dealing with the Mac Folder, designed by Tryi Yeh and this device is a pretty hot netbook.
Mac Folder comes with a reworked UI based on the ones used on the iPod Touch and iPhone, a multi-touch screen and a very, very slim case.
I’m ready to bet that the display is something like 8.9 inches, considering the size and placement of the keys, but the netbook is surely a looker, so we hope it’ll reach production or at least Apple will borrow some of its traits.
We’ve seen an iPhone Pro concept before, with very interesting specs, but this time we’ve stumbled upon a design bearing the same name and more or less the same features, plus some eco-friendliness.
The iPhone Pro concept uses a multi-touch LED backlit display and the device is made out of recyclable aluminium and glass, in order to save the Planet while using the latest technologies. There’s also a 3.2 megapixel camera on board, a removable battery and 16 or 32 GB of flash memory.
Will this make the cut, or are we dealing with the usual 2010-ish design?
While the web is buzzing about the new iPhone, coming this summer, more and more concepts keep surfacing, feeding our need for new designs and features. Among those newcomers there’s also a design created by Adam Hutchinson and we’ll call the device “iPhone Magnet”, since its most appealing feature is a magnetometer.
This new iPhone concept comes with a 32GB internal memory, a frontal video camera, video voicemail support, a digital compass (magnetometer), realistic games (aided by the compass) and color-based notifications shown by the Home button.
Also, you should know that this original iPhone packs a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and probably video recording.
Apple has something hot ready for this summer, that’s for sure, but will the rumoured netbook manage to impress us and challenge the Eee PCs to a duel? Till the time of its launch, we have a look at the Apple netbook concept below, created by Wendy Lui, from the Retrevo team.
Turns out that this futuristic netbook will feature a gestured-based touchpad, a neat camera, a GPS, an accelerometer, stereo speakers and even a 3.5mm jack. Now, let’s guess the size of the display… Classic 10 inch? Less? Touchscreen, anyone?
Mac Funamizu is back and this is no April’s Fools, since he has created a very neat iPhone stand concept, that incorporates a touchscreen, speaker and projector. The iPhone can be docked at the top and the stand can be tilted to the side, allowing the photos, songs and video files to spread around just like water flow, coming out of a fountain.
These images will disappear in a couple of seconds, but if you touch them, they’ll be played (audio and video) and viewed (image). The incredible part will be revealed now: once the round dish surrounding the stand is full of images, they’ll be “spilled” on the surrounding area, thanks to the incorporated projector.
Afterwards, you’ll manipulate the files are you please, but now displayed as larger thumbnails. There’s also a full screen mode and if you ask me, this great concept idea slaps Microsoft’s Surface with a trout. Great work Mac!
Aside from concept phones and other portable devices, we sometimes take some time to check out concept accessories, like this iPod/iPhone dock. The E-Pod is a Eun Seok Huh creation and plays the part of a speaker, movie projector, alarm clock and… obviously a dock.
The device is the size of a regular alarm clock and it packs stereo speakers, Hi-Fi Stereo Sound, an LCD display and a woofer. I really like the design, although the whole tilting dock thing could prove to lack stability, in the long run.
Although for some of you an iPhone 4G concept may be a premiere, this is not the first time we’ve seen a handset branded as the “4G iPhone”, but this design is surely looking hot. Although the last concept Apple handset had incredible specs, we don’t have any info on the device below.
As you can see, it features a full touchscreen display, ideal for full web browsing, playing games and video playback and also iChat – multi-way video and audio conferencing.
I guess the phone’s camera supports video recording and conferencing and, as you can notice in the picture below, Google’s navigational (and probably social networking) services should be supported as well.
We’ve shown you a MacBook Nano concept and even a hot iNetbook design a while back, but now we’re being treated to a very fine piece of gadgetry: the Apple Netbook, MacBook Mini. Designed by Isamu Sanada, this great portable device packs a full QWERTY keypad, a 10 inch LED display and even a trackpad, placed on a foldable segment.
MacBook Mini is just 5.4 inches thick when folded and it incorporates a 128GB SSD, but it lacks the optical drive some might be hoping for. I could see this as a pretty decent multimedia device, but also one meant for business men and journalists.
Even gamers might get a kick out of using it. If it weren’t for the thickness, I’d be MacBook Mini’s number one fan.
Just before Christmas a ton of pictures showing iPhone Nano cases have hit the web and there were even a few concepts of the device to be seen, like the one below. Many have hinted on such a released even in the days of the first iPhone, but it seems that this product is getting more and more real.
What’s Apple waiting for? Macworld 2009 probably, for a surprise release and maybe a surprise price tag, to go with the depression and post-holiday wallet slimness.
