Believe it or not, Esato board user Juris15, who swears he’s not a professional Photoshop user created a pretty neat Sony Ericsson concept, pictured below. The designer is a mere 17 years old and this device is called the Sony Ericsson Aino II.

Also dubbed the U10, the handset comes with a full touchscreen display, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 720p HD recording, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB connector. What do you think about this design?

Sonny Lim, a designer from Singapore has created a pretty interesting Sony Ericsson concept phone, dubbed the 3G, that’s based on a simplistic method of communication. Sony Ericsson 3G uses its large touchscreen display, allowing the users to draw symbols and write text and numbers with the thumb on a nine-dot matrix.

It’s like children’s finger-painting and the basic idea behind the handset is user-friendliness and the resemblance to natural writing. Also, it turns out that drawing a character is faster and easier to do than searching for a letter on a tiny keyboard. This visual input method is very useful, specially for people who don’t use English language.

We’ve also got to admit that the phone looks pretty hot and sci-fi, specially with that greenish color.

It’s been ages since we’ve seen a phone for the ladies in these parts, but thanks to Esato board user S4k1s, the dames can feast their eyes on a beautifulsmartphone. Check out the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X12 Pink Lush concept below, probably a follow-up or local version to the XPERIA X10.
Keep in mind that Valentine’s Day is coming and your girl would die for a gift like this! However, this phone is not real… keep that in mind before posting comments regarding its price.

A couple of days ago we showed you some shots of a supposed Windows Mobile 8 design on a Sony Ericsson device, courtesy of Esato board user Remort1. Now, the designer published a bunch more shots of the concept OS, showing its media functions and its media center.

The device and its platform look great in landscape mode and the handset looks like some future XPERIA, if you ask me. I’m really curious to find out the resolution and diagonal of the display on thissmartphone, plus the required processor to run such an OS…

Let’s speculate a bit: Qualcomm’s upcoming 1.5 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM and quite a bit of ROM?

board user Remort1 created a fresh Sony Ericsson concept, sporting an UI called Xcellent and a 12.1 megapixel camera. The latter supports autofocus, touch focus, video recording, geo tagging and face detection, plus it comes with a Xenon flash.

The same cameraphone also uses smile detection, an image stabiliser, photo fix, video light, red eye reduction and up to 16x digital zoom. Bluetooth stereo is also on the specs list, as well as, TrackID, PlayNow, a 3.5mm audio jack anda pretty big touchscreen display.

This looks like a pretty good cameraphone, with all the media functions that a Walkman handset needs to rival a PMP/audio player. What do you think?

Days after Esato board user Razec teased us with a couple of 2010 Sony Ericsson phones, we have a detailed look at the Sony Ericsson Karina concept phone. The device is pictured below and it combines the Walkman and Cyber-shot brands into a 11.9mm thick smartphone that runsWindows Mobile.

Karina supports GSM, HSDPA, WiMAX 802.16e, Bluetooth 3.0 and comes with a 3.2 inch HWVGA TFT LCD display, the TI-OMAP 3430 platform (Samsung ARM Cortex A8 CPU, PowerVR SGX 535 Graphics 28MT/s) and 256MB RAM. There’s also 1GB of internal memory on board, a microSD-XC card slot, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port.

Windows Mobile 7 is running the show on the handset, in a customized version and the device also packs a 1500 mAh Lithium Polymer battery. At the back ofSony Ericsson Karina you’ll find an 8 megapixel HD camera, with 720p video recording support, a mechanical lens cover, LED flash and a 1/3.2 inch Sony Exmor CMOS sensor.

I have to say that Razec did a great job with this Windows Mobile 7 phone that combines the features of a smartphone with the ones of a cameraphone and we hope to see more of these handsets in 2010!

In preparation of the 2010 Sony Ericsson concept phones on Esato, we get some teasers of the upcoming devices, courtesy of designer Razec. The first is Sony Ericsson Nanami, pictured below and probably being a touch cameraphone, “the revival of something exotic” and a… slider? (we’re only guessing).

Next up is Sony Ericsson Karina, pictured below, a “slim and neat” handset, that’s both compact and powerful, it seems to run a mystery flavour of Windows Mobile and features a bright touchscreen. There’s a HD inscription near the camera at the back, so we’re guessing the sensor is 8/12 MP and it comes with autofocus and serious flash power.

This slim device with Windows Mobile 7 (we’re guessing again) might be the ultimate XPERIA of 2010, although the handsets of this series have gone the Android way. I’d put a 1 GHz CPU under that case… Great teasers, Razec!

While Nokia’s busy with readying a bunch of new smarphones and cameraphones, we have a look at a new concept bearing their branding, the Nokia Stealth. Created by Reginald Shola Hingston, this mid level handset is destined to reach the pockets of tech enthusiasts and you can learn what it’s all about after the break.

The Nokia concept comes with an ergonomically sculpted keypad, that allows the user to easily navigate by touch sensation, plus a rubberised matte textured surface, that absorbs light on radii, giving a feeling of flat facets. Nokia Stealth also uses a pearlescent matte coloring, that gives it a dark red hue, reminding us of radar lenses.

For more projects of this designer you can have a look at his Coroflot profile.

Symbian went completely open source these days and we’ve also found out that the platform will be used on netbooks and tablets in the near future. This statement was made by Symbian Foundation CEO Lee Williams and one such “device of the future” is pictured below.

The portable gadget is part of Nokia “Vision of 2015″ video, shown after the break, below. This clip includes a bunch of concepts and prototypes made by the Finnish company, probably meant to feature Tegra 2 and OMAP4 solutions. Word has it that Symbian was already ported to the Intel Atom processor, in a project called Wild Duck.

Since Nokia’s Booklet 3G is real, should we also expect to see a Nokia Tablet in 1 or 2 years?

There were a few Nokia fans who regretted the canning of the N-Gage gaming phone series, but there is still hope for this idea, specially if you believe in concepts. The folks of Recombu created the Nokia Ovi Orion, a gaming phone design, pictured below.

Nokia Ovi Orion looks like a combo between a Palm Pre and an iPhone, with a strange QWERTY keyboard and a hidden one line display at the back. This bizarre design might make gaming more user-friendly, but what’s really important is the front multitouch capacitive touchscreen, with a huge diagonal, hopefully.

We wouldn’t be surprised if a Tegra or Snapdragon CPU was on board too, as well as HDMI out and a decent bunch of speakers. The question is: does Nokia have the software platform for such a device? Here’s a short video demo of the concept gaming phone:
