CLIPit Incredible Phone Design of 2010; Features a 12 Inch Screen, Persian Turquoise Stone

Want a device that’s both futuristic and elegant, both sci-fi and scheduled for 2010? A team of designers created the incredible Nokia CLIPit concept phone, that is considered 2010 material and comes with incredible feats, like using the finger print as a SIM, a 12 inch screen and Persian turquoise stone encrusted.
This is the creation of Mohammad Zamani, Ziba Hemmati, Mir Kazem khalifezadeh, Ali Khajuee and Rasul Shokrani. Nokia CLIPit is made out of brushed steel, among others and it features a touch pad dot matrix screen, a clip on design and “smart fabrics” that pull out the 12 inch screen. On top of the device there’s a steel touchscreen based on a group of tiny Light Emitting Diodes incorporated in the steel section.
This can generate dynamic buttons, serving all purposes, from navigation, to dialling numbers and music control. If you pull down the device’s clip, it’ll turn into a hands free and you should also know that the Nokia concept can be connected to any other gadgets by clipping it to them.
If you’re curious about the huge 12 inch screen, know that the basic display is a 3 inch unit, but it’s made out of a flexible cloth, based on Philips’ Lumative technology. The 3 inch color screen is the upper layer of the screen, but it can expand its size via “smart fabrics”, that are cloths with sensor nets between their layers, with touch support embedded.
Thanks to this technology, Nokia CLIPit can become a pocket folding 12 inch laptop. Although not many people noticed this beautiful concept, I dare to say that it’s as important in 2009 as Nokia Morph was in 2008. Great effort from the designers and it would be a pity if CLIPit remains a concept.
Remember the hot Sony Ericsson Impersa concept we’ve shown you a couple of days ago? Well, aside from the original image of the device, we’ve now got a bunch of new shots, courtesy of its maker, Shane A. Bygrave. We remind you that this is Cyber-shot concept phone, with a 12.1 megapixel camera.
Also dubbed the Impersa HD, the device packs a 4.1 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with multi-touch support. The screen is protected against scratches, it supports portrait and landscape mode and you should know that the phone’s camera uses a Carl Zeiss lens, with autofocus, 3x optical zoom, XenonFlash, camera notification, self timer and night light.
A 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card slot are also on the specs list of this concept. In the last image below, you can have a look at Impersa HD’s interface, looking pretty hot actually, specially if you take into account that this is a cameraphone.
It’s been a while since we last saw a Nokia concept phone, but we’re glad to finally check out an original device of this kind. Designed by Diego Peralta, the Nokia B-FLOW phone is inspired by the Brazilian culture, costumes and landscape. The device combines both the Finnish classic design and Brazilian curves.
Of course, we’re dealing with a Nokia touchscreen phone and we learn that B-FLOW set a relaxed design tone and comes with an original curvy lateral design. Its case is inspired by the “hues of a summer sunset at the Copacabana beach”, as claimed by the designer. Also, we learn the case was made using a three layered co injection of polycarbonate.
The base layer is orange, followed by a translucent pearl white layer and finally a transparent coating on top. There’s also a camera lens on board, hidden by a photopolymer screen, that can become transparent, once the camera is turned on. Nokia B-FLOW can be customized according to the user’s need and it also comes with social networking features.
With all of these details and photos, it’s hard to believe that this device is only a concept…
Remort1 is a fresh name among the designers on the Esato board, but his creation is pretty decent: the Sony Ericsson iIMPERIA concept. This touchscreen phone is both a music handset and a cool cameraphone, as it sports an 8.1 megapixel camera at the back with flash, autofocus and video recording (we suppose).
Beneath the screen you’ll notice a couple of keys, among which there’s a Home button, a Call and Reject Call button, plus another 2 keys for menu features. I wonder if this is an Android handset or a Symbian one, considering Sony Ericsson’s latest preferences.
I wouldn’t mind seeing this as a fresh XPERIA device, specially due to the name resemblance and we look forward to seeing more projects from designer Remort1.
We’ve shown you the teaser of the Sony Ericsson Impersa concept phone a couple of days ago and now we’ve finally managed to see the finalized project. If you’re worried that two pics are too little for such a hot 12.1 megapixel cameraphone, don’t fret, as designer Shane A. Bygrave has got more shots coming.
Impersa is a Sony Ericsson cameraphone, part of the Cyber-shot series and supporting 3x optical zoom. The handset supports photoblogging, MMS, email and packs a 4.1 inch AMOLED capacitive multi-touch display. This touchscreen supports 800 x 1200 pixels resolution and comes with 720p HD video recording at 30 fps.
The concept phone is also called Impersa HD and it weighs 124 grams, plus it measures 113 x 58 x 17mm. The device runs on Android Open Source OS and uses a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, supports 4G connectivity, UMTS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, DLNA, USB, aGPS and GPS.
This cameraphone’s specs list also includes 512MB RAM, 1GB ROM, 4GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot with support for memory expansion of up to 120GB.

It's not every day we write about CDMA phones, but monsters like W880 are something we just can't miss. It's the world's first 12 megapixel cameraphone with 3x optical zoom, xenon flash and HD video recording at 30 frames. But even with the GSM capabilities, what is meant for South Korea stays in South Korea. Our Samsung W880 AMOLED 12M preview is already up and running. Check it out here. You probably remember the Samsung M8920, which leaked several months ago. While it's still in Rumorlandia, Samsung have just announced its Korean counterpart - the SCH-W880 or Anycall AMOLED 12M as its mundane name goes. Yes, it's a silly name, we know, but South Korea is a market that's entirely different from Europe or the Americas. The W880 AMOLED 12M is the world's first 12 megapixel cameraphone with 3x optical zoom. Despite being mainly a CDMA mobile phone, the W880 will sport tri-band GSM connectivity and 3G connectivity (WCDMA 2100). But don't just open champagne yet as the W880 will remain exclusive for the South Korean market and the GSM radio will be used for roaming purposes only.
The Anycall (Samsung) W880 is not a smartphone, but boasts a 3.3-inch WVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 4GB internal memory, 12 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom and variable aperture, xenon and power LED flashes, 720p@30fps video recording, T-DMB TV tuner, Bluetooth, microSD card slot, microUSB connectivity and 1100mAh Li-Ion battery. We know for sure that the long-awaited European version (M8920) will swap the T-DMB TV tuner for the more practical Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity. Check out that shot for reference. Another nice surprise we have for you today, is that we managed to grab a pre-release sample of the S. Korean W880 and we are seriously impressed by its imaging prowess. As you will see the W880 AMOLED 12M is very impressive, capable and promising cameraphone, which really deserves a lot of attention. Here are three sample photos and a sample video to enjoy, while waiting for our live preview article later on today. Having 720p HD video recording at 30fps on a mobile phone is a world's first as well. After all, the Omnia HD went only as high as 24 fps. The following sample will show you the excellent color rendering and the impressive detail the W880 provides even at this early stage.
The Samsung SCH-W880 AMOLED 12M will be sold only in Korea starting in early October, but you can be sure the worldwide GSM version is cooking in the Samsung labs and we should see it in the beginning of 2010. Our Samsung W880 AMOLED 12M preview is already up and running. Check it out here.
Samsung has announced the B3210 CorbyTXT, a successor to Samsung's Corby S3650 that continues the device's form factor and colorful casing.
The CorbyTXT is built with avid messengers in mind, with features that surround SMS and instant messaging and social networking, like a full-QWERTY keyboard.
The phone has a 2.2-inch, 262k color TFT display that should show photos taken with the 2.0 megapixel camera vividly. Users can listen to their MP3s from the phone's microSD card slot or make use of the FM radio with a 3.5mm audio port.
The Samsung B3210 CorbyTXT will be available in Europe by the end of September. Pricing and exact availability have not yet been announced.
(Eureka Presse)
