As you might already know, Nokia launched this week its first X series devices, that are quite hot, but still we’re pleasantly surprised by Esato board user RKSD’s concepts shown below. The first is Nokia 5903 Classic, an Android 2.0 handset with a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 512MB RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

You can see a “live” shot of the Nokia concept phone below, followed by a render of Nokia 5902, an even more hot looking handset. The 5902 model is also slimmer, probably runs Android as well and, as you can see, both devices use touchscreen displays.

This means that Nokia will quit using Symbian and the promising Maemo 5 platform, which I really don’t see happening too soon. What do you think?

Nokia are obviously getting more and more serious about their touchscreen portfolio. Hot on the heels of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, they have announced the Nokia 5230 - an entry-level touchscreen handset. The newcomer has the same dimensions as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic but looses the Wi-Fi and has only a 2 megapixel camera.

Much like the Nokia 5800, the Nokia 5230 sports a 3.2-inch resistive touchscreen with a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels, FM radio, 3.5 mm audio jack and microSD card slot. The camera has been downgraded to 2 megapixel resolution but manages the decent VGA@30fps video recording.

Nokia 5230 runs the latest Symbian S60 5th edition and is powered by the same battery as 5800 - a 1320 mAh one, which is good 320 mAh larger that that of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic. According to the manufacturer the 5230 will be capable of 33 hours of non-stop music playback.

The final noteworthy features of the the 5230 include Ovi Maps and social networking integration such as Facebook, MySpace and YouTube.

The available inbox colors for the Nokia 5230 are black and white for the front panel and red, pink, blue, yellow, silver and dark silver for the rear covers.

The handset will be available in Q4 this year for a recommended price of 150 euro before taxes or subsides. It will also be distributed in a Comes With Music package in certain markets, priced at 259 euro before subsides and taxes.

And here is a short promo video of the new handset, that underlines, what Nokia consider to be its key features.

board member Jozef Kocúr has previously shown us a teaser of his Sony Ericsson Yanq D&G concept and now we have the opportunity of catching a glimpse of the final product. Keep in mind that this is only a design and not a real phone!

This Sony Ericsson handset comes with a sleek design, a full touchscreen display, probably some D&G content on board, Windows Mobile OS (or Symbian, maybe Android), a camera and menu buttons underneath the screen.

board user albero23 has just shown the world his brand new Sony Ericsson concept, the Icaro, that’s in the sketch phase for now. From what I can see, we’re dealing with a foldable device, that packs a multi-touch display and can change purpose, according to the form factor it uses.
You can unfold the phone and visualise a huge display, make it a compact smartphone, turn one of its sides into a keyboard and much more.

It seems that Samsung have another budget touchscreen phone in store for us besides the already available Samsung S5230 Star - meet the Samsung S3650. It's got a quite compact design, unique colors and a 200 euro price tag. And it's almost knocking on your door due for release within 10 September.

Samsung are ready to introduce their next low-end cheap touchscreen phone. Next in line after the S5230 Star and the S5600 Preston is called Samsung S3650 (codenamed Corby) and comes in extremely compact and unique design. The handset's front is painted with standard black color while the rear panel shines in yellow.

The smallish rounded S3650 (called internally Corby - it should have another marketing pet name) has a 2.8-inch QVGA touch display, a 2 megapixel camera, quad-band GSM connectivity, Bluetooth, FM radio and microSD card slot. The S3650 is only 13mm thin and weighs 92 grams.

Following the recent trends, the Samsung S3650 will also come with native social networking integration including MySpace, Facebook and YouTube.

The Samsung S3650 is supposed to hit Europe before 10 September with a retail price of 200 euro. Even better - it has also passed the FCC scrutiny so the US should have it soon as well. We really hope that price will go down to at least 150 euro as otherwise it would be really hard for it to beat tough competition such as that of Nokia 5530 XpressMusic - the third most popular phone in our database.

Bear in mind though, that Samsung have not officially announced the S3650, so we're yet to hear all the details from the horse's mouth.

Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition

Today Nokia unveiled the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition - a full GPS-centric variant of the Nokia 5800 XpresMusic. Using the momentum gained by the original XpressMusic handset, the new gadget matches the functionality of its predecessor almost perfectly. The main differences are the added lifetime Drive and Walk navigation license and the cool looking stand and car charger that allow you to easily use the phone as an in-car SatNav unit.

There's only one other difference compared to the original model according to the data sheet of the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition. It will be available in Chrome and Black color combo rather than any of the two-colored versions of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition will come in three different flavors, each packing quad-band GSM connectivity. Two of them will also pack WLAN and dual-band 3G with HSDPA, while the third one (we are guessing it will be available in either China or some emerging markets) will lack both connectivity options.

Unfortunately, judging by the promo video published, the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition's 3.2" screen seems to be as poor under direct sunlight as the one of the first S60 5th edition handset. Considering that the handset is meant to sit on your dashboard, frequently exposed to sunlight, this flaw might make it somewhat less than a perfect travel companion.

But never mind our concerns, here goes the video in question for you to check out. It introduces the keys features of the Nokia 5800 Navigation edition and demonstrates the last version of Ovi Maps GPS navigation software that comes preinstalled.

Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition will start shipping before the end of the current quarter for an estimated 285 euro before taxes or subsidies.

board user Jozef Kocúr is quickly becoming one of the important names of the Sony Ericsson amateur design segment, by creating more and more Yanq series handsets. We’ve got the original Sony Ericsson Yanq concept over here and the Pro version right here and now there’s even a Yanq HD to have a look at.

And boy is this smartphone powerful! There’s a 4 inch OLED display on board, together with the NVIDIA Tegra platform, Windows Mobile 6.5 (can be updated to Windows Mobile 7), a 12.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and Xenon flash, HD video recording, HSDPA, WiFi and aGPS.

Last time, we were pretty sure that Jozef would an old iPhone concept name series (normal device, Pro version and then Elite), but I see that he has gone the Samsung Omnia way.
